      UPA were genocidal nazi collaborators, so obviously it isn’t exactly popular in poland.

      Vandalising a monument with this message is meant to turn poles against ukrainians and create tension. It’s classic russian psyop stuff.

        Not UPA, but the topic of UPA is popular within the right-wing populist. They want to keep this a hot topic, while rest of us would rather keep this in the past. Such provocation initiated by those populists doe not seem completely unlikely. Russian influence or just a particularly stupid Ukrainian teen seem more likely explanation to me.
