Looks like it, but have mixed feelings about that. I love the entire series except for the final arc. I hope they take some liberty there at least to cover some of the flaws (e.g. the lame battle against the quadruplets)

I kind of hope not. I loved the original FMA anime, Brotherhood was a DNF due to boredom for me.

Will take me a while to get used to this new adaptation - I loved the 1990s version - but the first episode looked promising.

As much as I’d like to revisit my childhood and watch this I have no desire to help the pedophile author acquire more copious amounts of CP.

I 100% respect your stance. I do try and separate the artist from their art when possible, but everyone has their limits.

I would separate the art from the artists if the artist wasn’t still actively profiting off of the art, the author in this case is still very much involved and he’s 100% gonna use money from this to acquire more CP, you don’t fix people like him by giving them a slap on the wrist which is pretty much all he got, he had so much of that awful stuff that they thought he was a distributor.

This felt like a very similar / the same as the original anime, but more serious I guess? IDK, I really liked the original, but it’s been 20 years since I saw it, so maybe my memory is just wrong. I saw little flashes of the Samurai X OVA in the prologue and the ending.

I’m just not sure I want to re-watch something that I basically know what’s going to happen.

I guess it depends on what you want to experience. There are merits to rewatching a series you really enjoyed knowing the outcome. You may pick up on themes/ideas you didn’t notice the first time. There is the chance that altough the major plot points will be the same, how we get there may be different due to it being a more faithful adaptation.

I just finished my rewatch in anticipation for this remake, so far it seems pretty good. I assume it’s going to be more faithful to the manga.

The originals aesthetic will always appeal more to me, but there does appear to greater detail going into the earlier parts of the series i.e wounds.

    Kaoru was so cute.
