Surely you remember what happened to those who refused polio vaccination, right? Scarred me for life.

Seems to me that would overstep the authority of the president’s office, and be an attack on national security.

You must not have been paying attention to the recent Supreme Court rulings.

The president can’t ban vaccines in the US. Congress can pass legislation banning it and then the president can sign it, but the power lies with Congress here. I know we’re moving towards a more powerful Executive Branch, which is bullshit and a path to having a ruler instead of an elected official. Even the language used here is deceptive and designed to speak in terms of a monarchy and any real patriot would fight it tooth and nail.

No gods. No kings. We won’t be ruled again!

He could easily direct the FDA to rescind all vaccine approvals. He might have to fire a couple surgeons general (which, while it is my favorite euphemism, is not one in this instance) but he’d get there.

Would it hold up long term? No. But it would cause enough chaos and confusion in the short term.

He said he’s only going to be a dictator for his first day. But he has a really long list ready to start ordering right away, he’ll not need two days.
