It’s good to see you again. I can tell you that I would CERTAINLY not be here right now if you hadnt made the impact you did on the site’s culture and its overall acceptance of trans people. I’m so happy for that. 🖤❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Not gonna dox myself beyond just saying I served with you back in the day and I’m no longer cis. Also no longer an anarchist, not that that matters. Hope you’re doing good. I’m doing better than ever, thankfully.

I don’t think I’ll have to shame anyone into reading this time around. I certainly can scream at y’all to read for old times sake if that’s what y’all really want, but I’d rather not, lmao. Once I’m back in the pool and adjusted to the temp, you can pay off that IOU by participating in the next reading sesh. :)

Pretty good. I used to think you were a bit grating and overbearing with your whole “banning transphobes and yelling at people they have to educate themselves about transness” thing, and then I recently went back and looked at old strugglesessions and suddenly i-get-it

Apart from that I’m personally doing better than ever. I’ve got the best apartment I’ve ever had, I’m exercising regularly and I live right next to a deluxe fancy bakery that doesn’t lock its’ dumpster, so I’ve got sourdough bread and cinnamon buns out the wazoo.

I definitely was very overbearing but not without good reason. Constant manic episodes and the crushing weight of the momentum at which things were moving absolutely did not help that either. But now I’m medicated and the community is very pro-trans from what I’ve been seeing, so unless everyone suddenly becomes a massive shitlib overnight, I’d like to go back to the community organizing I did at the start of Hexbear - without the massive resentment for and anger towards the community.

Dumpster bread is one helluva vibe tho 🥵

Your decisions at the beginning really helped shape this site’s culture into what it is now in the best possible way. Like Stalin, after your departure a pile of rubbish was heaped on your grave, but the wind of History sooner or later swept it away without mercy.

That day was honestly so glorious. Still one of my favourite memories of this site. Waking up, seeing that anybody who upvoted transphobic shit got the boot, my goodness what a purge. So beautiful.

I really do mean that I get it now though. Having re-read some of those thread (and for anyone curious I made a compilation post) made me realise what I didn’t see back then, because I used to stay out of all those discussions. People were frustratingly obtuse, and that’s being generous. I definitely would have done the same, had I been in your spot. I can relate to being medicated and then looking back at previous behaviour too though, it’s… it’s an experience for sure.
Looking forward to experiencing your community organising.

Oh it’s not just dumpster bread. They make this weird caramelized double croissant-thing. It’s like crack cocaine. I’m giving out so many baked goods, partially because of course I do, but mainly to avoid clogging my arteries.

Thank you very much, sincerely, your efforts are part of the reason why hexbear is one of the only usable deep internet sites due to how much of a plague transphobia is, even on supposedly “leftist” sites.

TC69 was one of the early admins and important in shaping the site culture. Particularly by bullying people into reading gender theory and leading relentless purges against transphobia and stupidpolism

This method of ruthlessly purging shitheads had the incredible effect of making the site a more welcoming place for cool people. We refer to this methodology, in her honor, as upholding TC69 thought
