Republicans do not care about your health or well being. If you are poor, they wish you to die.

The following states never expanded Medicaid.

Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Wisconsin, and Wyoming

If anyone was confused why some very red states weren’t on the list

Definitely didn’t expect Illinois to be on that list. Hopefully Pritzker will do something about it? Only time will tell.

Money’s gotta come from somewhere. At least with a trigger law Illinois won’t be taking on more debt while they figure out what to do.

I wonder if that trigger was from before Illinois got that sweet, sweet legalized cannabis revenue. I know that IL finances were crazy bad back then, and I haven’t heard much about them being crazy bad in a few years now.

Medicare is the program with age based eligibility (primarily, disability can also be a qualifier).

Medicaid is the program for the poor. Boomers likely will see cuts to Medicare, but this shit is just punching down on the poor.

      That’s Medicare.

Medicaid covers people who make up to 130% of the federal poverty rate. At least in states that chose to expand it. It was 100% prior to the ACA. It’s the extra 30% coverage that he has suggested he will eliminate.

medicare itself is at risk for other undesirable changes, like moving everyone over to for-profit death panels advantage plans.
