Been 6 months since the last post here. Figured it may not be a bad idea to see where things are at. How has progress been?

I’ve been dealing with some health issues and a new baby so I have been taking a break.

I’ll be engaged again after the new year.

Thanks so much for checking in!

I’ve definitely been curious. Only recently found out that Beehaw was planning on moving to Sublinks. I stopped using my account there because the future was so uncertain and I think this is a pretty cool path forward.

Peeking at the gituhb, there has not been basically any activity in the last couple months. The frontend code get continual updates from a dependency bot and otherwise nothing has happened since August.

Honestly I thought they were dead after they gave up on making a database, but they seem to still be a very viable shop. They just bought chef, and while it’s now under a license trapdoor it’s still a very versatile product.

I can only wish them the best. I remember driving up to Bedford and Nashua to talk with them when I was back in Jersey, and they were always a great shop, filled with eager and enthused engineer types.

And people worry about LLMs taking over competent work. Thanks for your hard work, congrats on the kid, and take the time you need.
