This graphic is where I found out about lemmy and brought me here!
lemmy.world
Fixed it!
While it is no longer linking to lemmy.world of all places, I think it’s best not to link to a specific instance but to instead link to https://join-lemmy.org/
I would drop the “no censorship” “free from manipulation” and “true freedom of speech” none of those are technically true and the later is associated with extremist rhetoric.
Yeah a lot of Luigi sentiment was toasted directly by admins, so, you know
Specifically in .world, which is the instance they are advertising.
idk why they picked world over lemmee or shitjustworks, both of those seem like better picks
Loops will own all your content you post there
Love the style. Makes me think that we should start a repository with original files that people can download and iterate on + share with their communities. Do you know if something like that exists / would you be interested in creating and promoting a repository together?
I made a graphic of my own quickly last night but I definitely don’t have your talent for graphic design lol
Should be “no known corporate” tracking or something along those lines.
By interacting with social media, you are creating a trail, such as I do now.
But in the fediverse, no known entity is granted access to that data as a business model or known force.
Yeah, it’s all publically available content. Anyone can scrape it if they’re determined enough.
It’s why I’m wondering why there isn’t a stronger desire within the fediverse to have some of it end-to-end encrypted. PixelFed is useless to me, because I’d only want to share photos with people I’ve added.
So far, I have not yet found a suitable non-abandoned project.
Futo Circles, please revive 🥲
why link lemmy.world when there’s https://join-lemmy.org/
Experience from 12 days ago from someone using join-lemmy: https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/post/35480016
In summary: it was quite messy, they ended up on a unmaintained, slow instance and had to change
ok but lemmy.world still shouldn’t be the default
