A senior White House official said in a statement assisting Massie and liberal Democrats would be viewed as a hostile act toward the administration’s efforts.

Massie secured signatures from House Republicans Nancy Mace, Lauren Boebert, and Marjorie Taylor Greene, leaving him just two shy of the required two hundred eighteen.

He said a major pressure campaign from the White House and the Speaker aims to block his effort, but he remains confident in gaining support.

This is such a weird fight to fight. Because really, if you’re against a bill to release the Epstein files, what does it say about you other than “I support pedos”?

So the WH is saying quite plainly that not supporting pedos is a hostile act, and the disgusting Republicans who go along with the WH are screaming that they prefer supporting pedos than going against a demented orange fascist.

They must be really, REALLY afraid of Trump to ro-ro with that. Or they must really like pedos. Either way, Republican congresscritters truly are disgusting.

It’s not so much “I support pedos” but more like “I will do anything to have more money and power, up to and including supporting pedos”

Right now each Republican rep is trying to figure out the answer to the questions “If I vote no on this, will my reputation suffer enough that I can’t win reelection?” And “if I vote yes, will I lose out on those juicy corporate donations that I’ve been enjoying?”

But then you look at campaign donations, and you think…really? You sold out for 10k?

Could very well be under the table “donations” as well, but the public info is sad. Real sad.

“Up to and including supporting pedos” makes it sound like that’s their limit for shit things they will do, I don’t think that’s really the case with these arseholes. The “up to and” is unnecessary.

I don’t understand why they even still exist, i thought with his cronies installed in every department, the files would’ve been shredded and burnt long ago. I guess someone somewhere is doing a good job keeping it safe from them.

Interesting way to admit that he’s still holding on to the really damaging stuff. It’s the equivalent of hearing somebody knock at the door and responding with “nobody’s home!” when you’re trying to hide.

The fact that it’s so blatant and dumb just adds insult to injury every day he isn’t held accountable.

I think the thing they are worried about is that the epstein files will hit enough people in the upper echelons of maga that it would be “worse” for them than trump dying or losing power. It will be enough of them that their movement fails.

My spell check is saying a bunch of these words should be capitalised, but I don’t see it that way.

I’m glad it’s the House voting on this. Generally speaking, House representatives tend to know their constituents better than senators do. A LOT of Republican voters are pissed about the Epstein files, and hopefully, representatives who think supporting Massie will strengthen their incumbency will do so. I’m confident that Massie will get the signatures he needs.
