I haven’t commented on any of the content of this story until now.
Pay very close attention the the ‘agent’ wearing the grey coat, with his back to the camera before he turns around and walks towards it holding a gun.
He goes in hands empty, retrieves the gun from the suspects waistband, at the small of his back, and leaves before the first shot is fired.
Every shot was fired, by federal agents, at an unarmed individual. Plain murder.

It seems like getting out to vote might be difficult in an environment like this. If this environment is limited to certain political areas, it might have an effect on any nationally significant democratic theatre.

sadly what happened. all the guns in the world are of no use if you are in his situation.
some of the black panthers got it right: organised, trained and are bringing their legal big guns very openly and in big numbers. pretty sure that acts as a deterrent.

That will only give them ammunition and the right optics to become even more oppressive. But there are concrete steps we can take to combat the regime with our last non-violent pathways (the titles below expand if you click them).
Learn First Aid! ⛑️
The future us likely to be violent, and It extremely important to have the skills to be able to keep yourself and others alive if they get hurt. You can never have too many medics.
Tacticool Girlfriend provides a great introduction to building a personal first aid kit, called an IFAK, which can deal with things like bullet wounds and other serious bleeding wounds. I also want to emphasize her recommendation of only buying medical gear from reputable sources (not Amazon!), such as North American Rescue to avoid fakes that could cost you your life.
But you’ll need to learn how to use that equipment, too. The best resource for that is to take a local Stop The Bleed class, which are pretty widely available in most places. They may cost a small fee, but can also sometimes be free. Alternatively, if you cannot access a local class, this video by PrepMedic will give you a solid understanding of how to use Tourniquets and Gauze for wound packing.
Injuries are less harmful if they are tended to early. Learning first aid can help conserve resources when healthcare becomes unaffordable. Having several medics in case of harm by police is an extremely powerful morale booster during a protest that may become a police riot. When you become comfortable with the basics of first aid, riot medicine is the next suggested step.
Establish or join local Mutual Aid networks ✊
If you haven’t already, get to know your neighbors. Mutual aid is a willingness to support and grow your community. This can include informal networks through friends, tenant/renter organizations, solidarity groups, and industrial unions.
These are groups using direct action to solve each other’s problems. Building strong communities makes it difficult for fascism to take root. The actions of the government are going to hit every community hard, and the ones who build trust in each other and work together are most likely to survive. We’ve been building a list of resources in !inperson@slrpnk.net to help you on your way. Also check out this handy guide to find existing groups in your area.
This isn’t only for your own community protection. Your ability to organize today will change the political landscape tomorrow. When revolution occurs, the social organizations that show the greatest resilience through the regime are the ones typically calling the shots when the dust settles. When it comes to elections, get out the vote drives are useless if most of the voters are fascists. At some point, you have to do grassroots political education if you don’t want fascist candidates winning elections. Mutual aid networks are excellent forums not only for teaching each other good political ideas, but demonstrating them in practice.
Join a Union and Prepare for an even longer General Strike! 💪
The most effective non-violent action we can take is preparing and organizing for a General Strike.
The country would be brought to its knees if suddenly deprived of profit and labor. That tactic was extremely effective in Chile in 2019, and had they not fallen for the trick of liberal reform, they would’ve had a successful revolution on their hands with virtually no bloodshed.
If you aren’t in a union (or even if you are, it’s worth dual-carding), consider joining the IWW to unionize your workplace (bonus: you’ll get higher wages, better benefits, and more time off if you succeed!) to strengthen a general strike if we manage to enact one, as most unions have a strike fund that can supplement your income during a general strike to make it more financially bearable (you should also save as much money as you can reasonably do, so it can also be used to keep yourself afloat during a strike).
And for our international friends, you should join one as well, as fascism is gaining momentum globally. If your country isn’t listed below, just contact the IWW directly in the link above, and they’ll help you set up a new local branch.
Adopt Security Culture and Digital Camouflage 🛡️
Sometimes benign seeming efforts can turn into unexpected personal data collecting traps. Like an obscure website for exchanging contact info with other students turning into a global ad-tech surveillance network (Facebook), or innocent seeming online personality tests being use to harvest character profiles. Even Etsy, Reddit, Tinder, and Duolingo are feeding information to US Government Agencies like ICE.
Security culture is commonly used to describe the general awareness of such potential traps and how it can affect groups or entire communities. This goes beyond mere individual privacy efforts, as without joint efforts these often fail to work.
Especially in activist circles, security culture is paramount. For opsec reasons not everyone in the group might be aware of what clandestine efforts others are involved in, but with a general security culture many potential data leaks can be avoided.
Movements are made by the volume of their participants, and the easier and less dangerous it is to participate, the more people will get involved. As more people get involved, individual involvement becomes even less dangerous, creating a virtuous cycle.
We’ll start it off with some General Advice:
- Mentally wall off personal uniquely identifying info from your online presence, actively build a habit of opsec so that withholding information is your default mental state
- Be careful about who you meet online
- Use different, unrelated usernames, passwords & emails for every account. And try not to connect to those accounts with your real IP address (use Tor or a VPN)
- Be mindful that anything done online leaves a trail
- agents provocateurs may seek to find patsies willing to perform an ill-advised illegal activity in order to legitimize police repression. If someone is trying to pressure you, especially if you don’t have a long and proven history with them, be extremely wary.

You should organize locally, not necessarily in Minneapolis. This is a country-wide problem, and while this particular incident happened 1300 miles away from you, there are undoubtedly people being terrorized by ICE much closer to you. You could join the closest PSL chapter, unionize your workplace, and join mutual aid organizations and mutual defense orgs close to you. Don’t feel alienated by the calls to action, feel included, everyone can help

How long until ice starts unloading full cartriges into crowds of protestors and vice-versa? This is really shaping up to be an actual civil war. Trump and his cohort was used to the politicians of democrats and not the actual people who vote for them because theres no better choice. These people will fight back. It will take one of those black panthers with a handheld cannon to be arround when something similar to this happens. Im surprised it hasnt escalated yet. I have mixed feelings about this cause i know theres no such thing as a peacefull revolution but seeing not only the innocent but even the the perpetrators die violently pains my heart. I’m not saying the gun was his, or that he had control of it, or that he even fired it, but I am saying if ICE is doing this to people why shouldn’t they defend themselves. Black Panthers just got some recruiting. Arm yourselves and openly carry. It’s your right so use it.
Let’s go further than that. If you know that you will be killed if you don’t resist, and you will certainly be killed if you resist while they’ve already started… maybe you shouldn’t lie down and not resist, and you definitely shouldn’t let them start in the first place.

Today is literally a general strike across Minneapolis and neighboring areas you fucking twat.
Sigh… A one day protest on a Saturday where the vast majority of participants either already had the day off or requested it from their employer is in no way a strike. It’s a large protest and an important event, but it’s just not a strike.
It’s like the actual concept of a strike is being erased from the public consciousness. Strikes don’t have a fixed duration, they have a list of demands, and the strike goes on until those demands are met or the strikers capitulate.
A bunch of Minnesotans taking a day off work to protest sends a strong message and mildly inconveniences businesses.
A bunch of Minnesotans saying “we’re not going back to work until ICE is out of our state” is what an actual general strike would look like. It would be hugely powerful if strikers held fast, but it would also be incredibly hard to organize and pull off, because you’re basically asking large numbers of people to be willing to get fired.
I’m not trying to downplay what’s going on in Minnesota - it’s good and important, but it saddens me to see people calling this a general strike. A general strike is the ultimate weapon of the working class. Calling a mass protest a general strike feels like saying “this is the best we can do,” and it absolutely is not.
America has successfully villified unions for decades, it would not surprise me one bit if they have also systematically erased any education about actual strikes as part of the already well-documented gutting of general education and overall indoctrination the American right has performed on the population.

Over half the country is paralyzed by frigid temps and storms this weekend. It is not the statement you are expecting. A general No-BUY that lasts for months may help but honestly, there are many that just don’t have that discipline. Even last year, during winter, we had lackluster engagement. I mean I am over 60 and can’t risk falling on icy sidewalks. First off, let’s see what we can do to protect the integrity of homes (barred windows, double deadbolt locks on all egresses) Even boarding up windows with wood/locked shutters) in order to prevent home invasions. Locked fences. You know… make those MFers work for it. We can be “Meals on Wheels” to deliver nutrition. Provide families with loyal fierce pets that will alert them to anyone crossing their property. Distribute gas masks, goggles. Put up cameras that are not controlled by some tech collaborator. Esp. cameras that keep the footage inside.

I don’t think concerted violence here in America will do anything except to empower the executive branch to invoke the insurrection act and declare marshall law.
However targeted assinations in a minecraft server have been proven very effective in a more historical context.

We really need that pink lady’s video I think. If the protestor fired first, then we’re looking at the question of justified defense against ICE (which they’ll obviously rule with ICE that it was a legal murder). If an ICE agent fired first, then it’s straight up murder first degree.
edit: I’ve seen three other views, and the ICE thug in the grey sweater pulled the protestor’s away first, then the ICE thug in green pulled out his gun, a shot went off (I think from this guy), then the other ICE thugs got scared and started blindly shooting. This was a straight up murder.
After the first shot, the guy goes limp. They shot him, then they got scared and unloaded a mag on him when he was already dead.

I see the victim swing his arms immediately after the first shot at :19. He goes down with the shots that follow.
The green sweater guy draws his gun, fires at point blank range, the victim doesn’t immediately register being shot and is still pushing back against all of them beating him, then the others hear the shot and get scared then assassinate him. There are about 3 or 4 other views now online.
If you watch the video, the guy with the gray coat walks up to them, removes this guy’s legal firearm, and walks away before the firing starts.

There’s a guy on the left beating the victim, potentially in the head, with what looks like a capsicum spray bottle. There’s a guy kneeling to his right who reaches for his right pocket and then, with his right arm, reaches towards the victim who is starting to get up before he suddenly jerks back as a shot rings out.
In my opinion, I think that man shot the victim point blank, potentially in the chest, and this is the first shot.
Either way, this is an execution, without question. That poor ICU nurse.
Edit: i watched the link coat woman’s video for a while, and i think the first shot (whoever it was by) was done in response to an agent accidentally falling over a little. They were on their knees, tried to get up, but as the victim struggled to get up, he accidentally shoved that agent a bit. Immediately after, the shot rings out.
