If it passes, people who don’t opt out will get terminated for “performance”, and replaced with people who will take the lower wages. The “opportunity” will be played up by prospective employers, especially with the whole “no taxes on tips” nonsense.

Why stop at subminimum wage? They should give people the option to work for free as, what do you call that again? Oh yeah, slaves. Republicans like the idea of those, right?

The datacenters won’t build themselves you know. Those billionaires are too poor to pay labor, so in prison you go, and you better work hard or it’s the can for you.

Damn. Were I a politician doing something like that, I’d be terrified of being lit on fire. It is utterly bizarre how little these folks fear being lit on fire.

One of the Epstein files is an email from a CEO where he says they no longer have to worry about revolt because the people are too obsessed with buying consumer products. Lots of people posted it and criticized him, but very few people were honest enough to admit the truth: he was right.

Bread and circus. That’s all the people want. You give them just enough bread and an overwhelming amount of circus and the people won’t rise up for anything. Beyond the traditional definition, consumer products these days also include social media, streaming services, and video games.

This lack of fear they don’t have can be rectified.
Same goes for the guillotines, very fast moving bullets, and nooses etc etc etc. All that’s needed is motivation.

They know how hard they can push, with 1/3 of the population and all of law enforcement on their side.

Funny how people keep passing laws that say one thing, and then Republicans find a way to “interpret” those laws into meaning someone entirely different …

Please point to the stance of the Republican party that would be against lowering our removing the minimum wage.
