In this new horror adventure game from Tarsier Studios (Little Nightmares, Little Nightmares II), a brother & sister go through hell to rescue their missing friends and escape the island that they used to call home.
Unfortunately the game got hammered with negative reviews at release on Steam because the Friend’s Pass was missing. It was at ~45% positive reviews when I checked a few hours ago. Now that the pass is live, it has recovered to ~71%.
Personal thoughts: Played the demo yesterday. Controlling the character was a bit clunky but it felt like a great spiritual successor to Little Nightmares 1/2. I’ll probably wait until all the DLCs are out before getting it.
Roommate and I played the demo and really enjoyed it. We’ll play when the game is on sale, the other negative reviews are about the price when it’s only 4 hours long and I agree it’s too expensive for what it is.
As is tradition. People complained hard about Little Nightmares 2 being expensive for how short it was on release, too.
I watched a streamer I like playing through this. I really liked the cinematic element of some of the horror sequences, and there’s some nice “open world moments” and vehicle moments. That sounds initially like it doesn’t fit with a creepy game, but I liken it to the isolation of Highway 17 in Half-Life.
