I didn’t think it was a real Bible quote. I just thought it was some cold-blooded shit to say to a motherfucker before I popped a cap in his ass.

Whenever I see Hegseth, I picture Colin going, “What, you fatties!” to the generals.

“And I was like, ‘Would it be funny if Hegseth just did that Bible verse that they have in Pulp Fiction?’ Remember, they’re like, from Ezekiel…”

Host Fallon chimed in, acknowledging: “Yeah, Samuel L. Jackson, 12:17.”

“Yeah, we talked about it, and we were like, ‘That would be too ridiculous,’” Jost continued. “And it would take up all this time in the cold open. It would seem like we wouldn’t.

“And then he for real did it! Like two weeks later!” he exclaimed, quipping that the “good news is I’m being surveilled.”

It’s weird that he thinks that “passage” justifies a country in what it’s doing. In the Bible it was God who said that, not a person. It’s like he thinks the US is equivalent to God.

Yeah idk he literally makes every scene he’s ever been in unfunny. Jost is a legit extremely funny dude (and Michael Che too) but SNL just handcuffs so many talented comedians to do unfunny stuff for lorne michaels and fallon is the best lorne ass kisser.

That’s pretty much politics de jour for the last decade. Satire doesn’t stand a chance.

The original joke that was too ridiculous to air and actually happened is an alcoholic weekend TV show host becoming defense secy and going around calling himself Secretary of War.

Or a wrestling exec becoming education secy.

Or an antivaxxer becoming health secy.

Or a washed out minor reality TV star becoming transport secy
