I thought the kids were fine, Texas had just deported the parents and kept the kids.

According to the article, they aren’t deporting asylum seekers.

Despite the criminal trespass arrests, the state legal trouble doesn’t bar these separated families from continuing their asylum process under federal law, Etter says.

“It’s essentially a very harsh and cruel detour in the asylum process, but one that is not an obstacle because our clients have been able to request asylum and many of our clients have been released back into the country and are able to then reunite with their families at some point,” Etter said.

I thought the “Again?” and “kids they lost last time?” were in reference to immigration under the Trump regime.
When they were separating kids from parents, the whole “Kids in Cages” story arc.

Why are we treating asylum seekers like criminals?

They only arrested the fathers. Were the mother and child not criminals for doing the exact same thing?

This is cruelty for its own sake. Texas isn’t supposed to be enforcing immigration law.

Your made up narrative is very entertaining, but you have no idea what their intentions are and the asylum law makes no distinction.

And again, it’s not up to Texas to enforce immigration law.

And again, why only arrest the father?

              Your assumptions are irrelevant.

              The law makes no distinction.

Also, why would they only arrest the father if they all broke the law?

Also, why is Texas enforcing immigration law when it’s outside of their pervue? They handed the mothers and children over to CBP, so they know the proper procedure; why should they be selectively enforcing the law here?
