(yes, i know there are a lot of things wrong with this screenshot)
Oh HELLS yes, this was the superior reddit app
If it is open source, then I’ll test it for sure.
I don’t think it is, although that’s kind of the trade off with premium client apps
GitHub page says it’s open-source.,
this version we don’t know yet.Can confirm, it’ll be foss, though the code is kinda horrifying :D
Great! I’m currently using Jerboa, and it works, but something a little smoother would be nice.
ohmygodohmygodohmygod
Yes! This was my favorite app.
Slide is all I’ve used for so long I can’t even remember different! I don’t go on Reddit anymore, but I’ve been hesitant to actually uninstall Slide. Love to be able to use it here!
Wow no way… Slide has always been my favorite 3rd party app, and I always felt like the only one using it when I’d mention it on reddit. What an awesome surprise!
I stopped using it because apparently it had been abandoned by the dev, and switched to Infinity because it’s extremely similar, but I loved Slide too. Will definitely use this.
If you arent aware, there is a community at !slide@feddit.uk
That would be awesome. Do you have any Git links to track progress? Thanks!
was a bit apprehensive about sharing it, its really hard to describe how much of a challenge this codebase is. I’m constantly juggling refactoring for maintainability against just “getting something that works”, but if you’re interested, there you go
iOS?
Nope
I never used slide. What do people like about it?
I can’t speak for everyone, but I really enjoyed the “get out of your way” style the app has. I also really liked that you had to slide to upvote/downvote on posts instead of having static buttons you can accidentally press. It also had a decent system for switching between multiple accounts. Finally, it’s all open source so one could fork it and customize it if they wanted to.
I’ll wait for a FOSS app. Redreader supposedly will support Lemmy in the future.
I believe Slide was FOSS, so i imagine this will be too.
Slide was THE FOSS Reddit app WDYM
