I stole your title template @TehBamski@lemmy.world because i like it :)
I like the actresses and actors, especially John Cusack (who is just a fantastic actor in general) and Jack Black, who stands out in another role that just feels like it’s made for him (the other being School of Rock).
The film also makes good use of its soundtrack and music in general and has some funny scenes, along with a simple but well paced main plot.
Don’t forget the cameo by The Boss himself.
This is one of my favorite movies and I think I know why, Its a chick-flick for guys.
If you swapped the genders of everyone involved it would be a generic “woman with love troubles” story but because the protagonist is male it hits different. We do have feelings too, we promise.
I feel like this was Jack Black’s big break. He wasn’t all that well known of a performer at that point.
I knew him from Mr. Show and I’m sure I’d seen him in bit parts but this role was just huge for his career.
It was the first time I’d heard him sing. Dude has pipes.
Funny, I recently thought about this movie.
How do you sort your records? Biographically.
Autobiographically! I love the scene so much because of how nearly orgasmic Dick’s reaction is to it.
Dick: “That seems…” Rob: “Comforting?” Dick: “Yeah…” Rob: “It is.”
the dream sequence where Tim Robbin’s teeth get slapped out with a phone is <chef’s kiss> perfection
9/10 book and the reboot miniseries wasn’t bad.
