It’s not high cinema but they’re fun, directed/shot well, and have cool stunts. It’s a far cry from the Fast and Furious franchise which ARE fun but pretty bad overall - or at least the first couple movies are. I haven’t seen the new ones but I heard most of them are pretty awful

That’s especially why it feels so masturbatory. His character is exactly as cool as cruise wishes he was.
Aside from that, it was a pretty good movie. And credit to that insane bastard for doing his own stunts.
