Em-dashes may simply be explained by the use of lexical correction tools, which also loves weird typographic like thoses.

Same for weird phrasing, may be the result of anti-repetition rules.

I personally uses Grammalecte, which is specifically tailored for the French language, and when I ask it to review a text, he often does those corrections if I do not first disable those rules.

And that tools do not uses IA, it is 100% programmatic.

I suppose there is a reason, maybe to avoid the earlier plastic clips which tended to break (my FP5, now owned by my father, had 2 broken in about 2 yeard of use).

Moreover it could improve the water resistance reliability, by making sure it doesn’t open in case of a shock (my FP5 tended to open, with the battery flying away, every time it fell).

And maybe, just as a skill check. If you cannot open the rear plate, you cannot remove anything inside (the battery is screwed too). So you need your torx screwdriver anyway 😆.

Up until the FP5. The FP6 needs a torx screwdriver to remove the battery (which is still better that 99% of smartphones which are simply glued).
