  • You’re not sure what my point is? My point is that for most Americans they pay more and get less.

30% of American workers earn less than $12 and hour. Compare that to only 9% of Canadians working their minimum wage of ~$12.60 USD.

So a third of Americans are earning less than the absolute minimum earnings of a Canadian, and from that they are paying a comparable federal tax rate, but have to pay for health insurance and out of pocket copay to even see a doctor.

That’s just the people up to the threshold of the minimum Canadians make. Nearly half of US workers earn less than $15/ hour, so not much more. Less than 20% of Canadians make that little.

Most Americans are paid less, pay the same taxes, get no healthcare in return, but have to pay for private insurance AND still have to pay out of pocket for any medical visit.

  • Have you ever printed something via wifi and it works and you’re like “ok, cool, I’ve set it up and it works” and then you don’t change anything at all and you go to print and your computer is like “no sweat, we’re definitely connected to the printer” and nothing prints, so you send more inputs and still nothing, so you take a break and then go to investigate and the printer is printing out 30 copies and you desperately try to cancel them but the printer keeps going like its on a mission from God?

That, but its a 6 ton trailer that’s phantom driving 60 miles an hour.

  • We’ve also got luxury health for our teeth only. Its not like we need them to eat properly and its not like we need to do that daily.

I’ve spent thousands of dollars of government money for digestive issues that I’m fairly confident link back to the fact that my teeth only make contact in 4 places, but the cabal of dentists and orthodontists keep teeth payable and I can’t afford $10k for braces that I (who am not a medical professional) think I need, but that orthodontists (who, in this country are licensed tooth renovation salespeople) think they could give me nicer looking teeth for.

I agree to an extent that cosmetic medicine doesn’t need to be covered, but there’s no option for me to get my teeth medically corrected so I can eat properly, or, and what may be my biggest gripe, that I have a medical practitioner that wants to get me out of the healthcare system rather than sell me a fucking smile.
