I’ve dealt with Apple support before—mostly, they’re good—but the one time I had a real problem I spoke to people on the phone and got it escalated. It’s much easier to express frustration and anger and make demands when you’re talking to someone. Chat and email are easy for people to ignore and they’re less likely to empathize with you.

I always call and talk to someone—calmly, at first—when it’s important.

If I was a terrorist (I’m not), the World Cup in the USA would seem an excellent target. They’ve been making entry to the USA more and more difficult. But, they’ll have to let up if they want overseas visitors especially if it looks like interest is lagging. And, they’ve been focused so much on ‘undesirable’ countries and critics of the president that there’s got to be gaps in their normal security.

Honestly, I find this pairing hilarious. Both extremes are sanctimonious about their position. Both extremes are where creeps go to manipulate people.

I got a whole bed once. I ordered one and was charged for one. They somehow sent a second. I think it was a problem with the website. I remember reloading during the order process.

Anyway, I called to return one of them. They were confused by my explanation of what happened. I was on the phone for hours. But, eventually, I got them to take one back. They still issued a refund.

By that point I was so annoyed I didn’t bother to correct it and just kept the $300 bed at no charge.

It’s really about control and power. Get as many people as possible to identify with your in-group by othering an out-group. Racism is one way. Anti-immigration broadens the out-group and in-group pools and can even lure in minorities into your in-group.

With enough in-group support you can consolidate power and do whatever the fuck you want. It never works for long but these people are cowards and cowards don’t think about the long-term.
