A couple, longtime friends of mine, retired one of their 2 diesels for an EV last year. They have a charger at home, and just this week ordered a replacement for the 2nd diesel. They’ve ordered a Corolla Hybrid. Not PHEV, plain Hybrid. I can’t fathom why. I understand they may want to have a bit of ICE power there for hedging or whatever, but no plugin? They are in the process of building a new house, and it will have solar. I just don’t get it. I live in a flat, and don’t have convenient charging. I’m considering getting a new car (but not retiring my Skoda Octavia 1st gen, 480.000Km with 0 engine repairs except consummables, 3 years away from classic status), and my first choice right now is the KIA EV VAN. Convenient charging is my only problem right now.
