That said excluding the conspiracy take, the other explanation for his actions is that the city of New York is broke (considering the crapulance of Adams that wouldn’t be much of a surprise) and Mamdani is super dependent on the State providing or at least underwriting, loans for Mamdani to meet his initial promises ie universal daycare and subway/bus travel.
