I’m sure conservatives could get involved in some subjects… I have yet to meet a conservative with a rudimentary understanding of statistics. Shit, I think that’s a requirement for being conservative.

12·3 个月前I think they completely fucked up by going after the rioters. In my opinion, every one of them has an ironclad defense. Imagine for a second that, instead of living in a fox News fantasy world where up is down and the sky is orange, they just lived under a rock for 4 years and lean right:
The president they voted for told them the election was stolen. They’re just pions. He has access to intel that they do not. Who are they to question his claim? He’s the fuckin president! The left must be stealing the election!
In the fantasy where that is true, storming the capitol kind of is the correct move. They cut off the wrong end of the snake.

753·3 个月前I’ve thought about this a lot since Luigi. The power of these alt reality movements is derived from their mouthpieces. Without their army of apologists, every ridiculous lie sounds as stupid as it is and always was.
Being a professional shill/propagandist for these people should be one of the most dangerous jobs in the world, and I’m surprised that’s not the case. So, smart move on Ben. He should hang up the towel, and find a real job.
He likes that it takes 10x longer to read everything he writes.

5·4 个月前You’re getting a lot of pushback here, and I’m not sure if you truly don’t understand why or if you are trolling/being disingenuous on purpose. Webster’s definition of faith:
1
a : allegiance to duty or a person : loyalty
“lost faith in the company’s president”
b(1) : fidelity to one’s promises
b(2) : sincerity of intentions
“acted in good faith”
2
a(1) : belief and trust in and loyalty to God
a(2) : belief in the traditional doctrines of a religion
b(1) : firm belief in something for which there is no proof
“clinging to the faith that her missing son would one day return”
b(2) : complete trust
3
something that is believed especially with strong conviction especially : a system of religious beliefs
“the Protestant faith”
None of these definitions of faith fit science. Scientific theory is not faith in the slightest. Scientific theories cannot exist without evidence and observation. Faith has no such requirement.

22·4 个月前Yup. There was a time when Ferrari was untouchable with objectively the best car. Hamilton (McLaren/Mercedes at the time) was the only one in the field who would regularly give Schumacher a run for his money. Everyone else was happy with third.

A kid got hit on his bike in my community recently. I’m not sure of the outcome. What is the town doing about it? The local police are stopping kids and giving them fines for not wearing helmets…
