2·5 days agoThanks. This is my “medium effort” skin. Brown base, Citadel Cadian Flesh, flesh wash, Cadian Flesh/Citadel Kislev Flesh mix, straight Kislev. Pretty quick to apply but it ends up bright and even on the table. I put a few applications of black wash into his eye area to make his eyes look more sunken.

Comic Strip Edits @lemmy.world•That's not a funny comic strip, it's some sort of thing! It's imitating a comic strip, it isn't real! GET AWAY, YOU IDIOTS!English
2·7 days agoNo, eye shine theory doesn’t work at all, but I added eye shine anyways.
I think with The Matrix specifically it has to do with the physicality. Late 90s Will Smith was in shape and could do big, bombastic action, but I can’t imagine him doing precise martial arts moves without it looking like a comedy.
It is crazy how I always think of that movie as “early career Will Smith before he became famous quippy superstar” but it released between Men In Black and Wild Wild West.
I imagine him throwing some Bad Boys type energy into the lobby shootout.

2·7 days agoI don’t know if that particular detail was a propaganda centerpiece. Mostly people just celebrated that the Bismarck was sunk.
It was a real monster of a ship, with it’s final engagements being back to back (for it, essentially one long engagement with a chase in the middle) from the 24th to the 27th of May 1941. The final engagement was 1 aircraft carrier, 2 battleships, 2 heavy cruisers, and 8 destroyers against the Bismarck. The British really, really did not like the idea of it existing.

7·7 days agoThat’s a Fairey Swordfish, which was the type of plane launched by the HMS Ark Royal to disable the Bismarck.
On 26 May, Ark Royal launched two Swordfish strikes against Bismarck. The first failed to locate the ship. The second attack scored two torpedo hits, one of which jammed the ship’s rudders at a 12° port helm. This made Bismarck unmanoeuvrable and unable to escape to port in France. She sank after intense Royal Navy attack within 13 hours. Some of the Swordfish flew so low that most of Bismarck’s flak weapons could not depress enough to hit them.

It’s just an infinite number of Will Smiths eating an infinite amount of spaghetti.
