In the lesser of two evils they choose Hamas, which I find insane. I can certainly understand being very against and hating Isreal, but to me Hamas are literal demon scum cockroaches. I have a higher opinion of the Russian military than I do Hamas. And support of Ukraine is something I feel incredibly strongly about.

I think this is a minority opinion here though.

I think the point was that the current design can’t work; not that no design can work. And no clever flaps or heat shielding will work. If that’s the case, they have a pretty big setback and may be wasting time on the current design.

We’ll see if this launch will work. I’ll find the blog and read it again if it fails, and link it here for anyone that is interested.

Read a blogpost once that said the starship in it’s current design will never work. Something about the heat generated. Only reason why I am curious about this launch.

Is the outlook good on this one?

Starting with the assumption that the US does many technology related things better, we should just adopt a mantra of making second-best copies of whatever the US does better.

Catching up is always quicker and cheaper than being the first to get there.

Invest in copying.

I am pretty confident it’s the smartphone OSs (Android and iOS) that are more at fault. I remember having to install a file browser on my smartphone. Kids grown up with smartphones may not even know there are files and folder structures.

If it changes the air pressure, changing the refractive index, it will affect how fast the waves will travel. If you put it behind the router blowing towards the computer, does that increase the pressure? Then it would slow down I think. But this would only make a difference for a single wave packet; any real connection sends many packets and would be limited by the frequency of packets sent.

I see nothing wrong here. We have had these alternatives to hot dogs called beef dogs. They are great!

Didn’t know it was that large yet, that’s pretty good! The point is whether 700k leaving twitter says anything about a trend. Bluesky could be twice the size of twitter without changing the point.

I will probably start using Bluesky and Mastodon shortly.

I think the poster wants to say it means not that many in the US are leaving twitter or looking for alternatives, contrary to what the headline suggests.
