The only reason to change would be if you want a different desktop environment. You could do that with mint or go with a distro that mains a different DE.

And if they picked the Cinnamon DE version, they can still install KDE or GNOME or whatever. There’s no reason to reinstall the whole OS just to get a different DE.

OpenSuSE Tumbleweed

Tumbleweed rocks, and it’s what I use. However, I don’t recommend it for new users because there just isn’t as much support out there, whereas Mint has tons of users and thus tons of support.

Every distro has essentially the same support for gaming, assuming the same kernel and whatnot. Mint is based on Ubuntu (unless it’s the Debian edition), so it’ll have the same kernel.

Yeah, that one got me. If I was Zoom, I’d force people to work remotely, to iron out issues in the SW.

I use openSUSE everywhere, but I don’t recommend it for new users because of the support issues. I end up using the Arch wiki a fair amount, and the vast majority of it applies regardless of distro.

The Matrix channel seems to be fairly responsive, at least compared to the forums. But both areas are a bit sparse. I wonder if it’s better in German.

Yeah, they did a really good job. I use Tumbleweed on my desktop, Aeon in my laptop, and Leap on my NAS, and I’m testing microos on my VPS. They’re all solid.

That project already exists for those than want it: Bazzite and Nobara. Both of those are about as simple as you can get to get up and gaming.

I think you can fold down the back seats to get a bit more space.

But 5 is nice. I have kids, and they like to come with to the dump or hardware store. I currently do those trips in the minivan, this would be a bit more comfortable.
