I think it would be hard to find a hedgehog that would allow itself to be combed.

I don’t read a lot of what goes on in Showerthoughts. I would rather let people sort out their differences. Several users reported the thread, meaning that they wanted a moderator to take action.
If someone prefers zero moderation then they will need to look outside of Lemmy.world.

I observe two things about your comment.
- You have an unpopular opinion of JK Rowling. I want to build a welcoming community so I want to support people with unpopular opinions, like yours.
- The comment is written in a way that not only states your opinion but is aggressive towards the other users. In isolation this comment isn’t too bad but in the context of your other comments there is a trend of agression that stirs up more aggression. I want to build a welcoming community so I want to avoid aggression towards users.
These two points are at odds. I originally removed your comment, you didn’t like that, you sent me a DM, so I tried this approach.
If you were in my shoes, how would you resolve the conflict created by observations 1 & 2?

It was kicked off with the above comment. rainrain asked a question. If we assume the best intentions, it is a reasonable question but it could be interpreted as being hostile.
Leraje did a good job answering the question in a kind way.
In general, please approach opposing ideas with curiosity not hostility. We are all on the same team, we are all working together to build a better internet.

Thanks, I expected it would figure itself out. But I guess it only works in the desktop -> mobile direction, not the reverse.

Turns out my documentation could always use some improvements and it helps them feel comfortable with the documentation so they can reference back to it more easily.

Good point… I assumed an armory would be more guarded than a modern gun store, but maybe not much
Well technically for a very busy bee. Great photo!

John Brown’s raid on Harpers Ferry was among the last in a series of events that led to the American Civil War.[230] Southern slaveowners, hearing initial reports that hundreds of abolitionists were involved, were relieved the effort was so small, but feared other abolitionists would emulate Brown and attempt to lead slave rebellions.[231] Future Confederate President Jefferson Davis feared “thousands of John Browns”.[232] Therefore, the South reorganized the decrepit militia system. These militias, well-established by 1861, became a ready-made Confederate army, making the South better prepared for war.[233]
