Sounds like the problem wasn’t the e-bike.
Usually vans don’t ride on sidewalks.
Bicycles aren’t supposed to be on sidewalks either, that’s how pedestrians get hit.
The problem is motorist thinking they own the fucking road.
And motorists thinking they own the sidewalk.
