Though the finding may seem intuitive, it contradicts the notion that European Jews mostly descend from people who left Israel and the Middle East around 2,000 years ago. Instead, a substantial proportion of the population originates from local Europeans who converted to Judaism, said study co-author Martin Richards, an archaeogeneticist at the University of Huddersfield in England.
Not really surprising. It is the most obvious thing actually unless you are blinded by ideology.
It’s also an article from 2013…
Just agreeing that it’s a garbage post - sorry if that ellipsis was ambiguous.
And? Where’s the rule against posts from 2013?
Anyways I will edit the title and add it. But it is frustrating that this is even an issue!
Lol, what
At some level I get that a post from 2013 isn’t news but it is also a topic about an ongoing conflict and to this day I have to bring up this article and others to people who insist that Ashkenazi Jews are indigenous and cousins to the Arabs.
This is not a news community. So I would like to be able to post relevant articles even if they were from the 19th century.
But…?
