    Here’s the thing.

I’m pretty neutral on most things. Grew up in a blue state been (and enjoyed) drag shows, exposed to all this shit before it was ‘popular’ and kicked it and hung out with my gay peeps. (I’m straight) I was around it all the time.

It was never a big deal. The fact of the matter is, you respect ppl and treat ppl the way they want to be treated.

I’m also agnostic. But if you’re religious of which ever kind, I’m going to be respectful. It doesn’t matter. It’s not always about YOU all the time.

And that’s what this ‘movement’ disregards openly. “You’re Christian!? WELL FIGGIDY FUUUUUCK YOU!!! I’M THIS!”

When no one even asked. Or even cares for that matter.

I’m constantly seeing this from this movement:

Christians: A ok to disrespect, always all the time 💯

Lgbt…: ALWAYS respect us no matter what under EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE.

Being evil to either side is wrong, that’s common sense. But here, yall pick and choose who deserves respect and who doesn’t. That’s what ppl have an issue with. That’s what I have an issue with.

So I actually mostly agree with this.

The lgbt groups seem to have lost their sense of humour a bit, I think it’s mostly because they’re feeling attacked? But I’m not sure.

I think the problem is that it’s becoming harder to tell what’s “good humour” vs an attack. The lines have become very blurry, and there are legitimate attacks happening on their existence (the overturn of roe v Wade has opened the door for many legal challenges to the gay community)

Soooooo……. A significant portion of the populace is still very “anti-gay” to the point of legitimate threat…… so yeah, they’re more sensitive than they used to be. The more real the threat is, the harder it is to decipher the jokes.

I don’t have an answer, but I’m steering clear of many gay jokes that used to be “well meaning” just because I understand why they might think it’s not funny anymore.

It feels like telling “dead baby” jokes to someone that’s had a miscarriage. Dark humour is fine, but context matters.

……also, christianity is not under any sort of threat at all, so that explains why it’s always okay to make fun of christians. they ARE the threat lol

I don’t think we’re gunna fine middle ground here Mr. Kaboom in regards to the other guy.

You know what my point is so I’m just explaining it for everyone else. The point is it doesn’t matter who you are or every lifestyle you have, you respect others and treat them the way you want to be treated.

They’re argument is consistent with “You’re allowed to pick on groups who fall into a right wing category because they don’t agree with my favorite politics”

If you want respect, then be respectful to others regardless what you believe. That goes for both lgbt and Christians in this case. One doesn’t get to have respect while you shit on the other.

Sooooooooo nobody is forcing you into a gay marriage? How is that one threatening Christianity and putting it at risk? Is my gay marriage somehow making you risk jail time, or preventing you from having a family? Because limiting gay marriage does prevent some people from having families…. Can you see that difference?

Sex outside of marriage is a really heavy handed interpretation, as is alcoholic consumption, and quite frankly even gay marriage, quote scripture please for evidence.

Nobody in America seems to be actively promoting slavery, so I’m curious where that threat is coming from?

I started my life as a Christian boy, soooo I know someone making shit up when I see it.

@ArbiterXero Sorry, what I was trying to say that Christianity is AGAINST what I listed. I know far well the West is in full opposition to the Church.

Slavery today exists in various forms, human trafficking etc.

Yes, I caught that, and I’m guessing you’re fairly severely misinformed on the matter regardless of what your pastor tells you…

Which western country is FOR slavery?

                  @ArbiterXero

                  Here’s some scripture you requested.
                  leviticus 18:22
                  Ephesians 5:18:
                  1 Corinthians 7:2

I don’t expect you to agree. But, I do pray for your well-being. All the best.

Leviticus 18:22 is debated among scholars to be about incest and that it was later translations that were about homosexuality. But it’s important to the politicians for us to keep the focus on homosexuality so we don’t see them robbing us blind. Keep hating the gays, it’s very politically important for the man that’s pickpocketing you. (That’s why they haven’t just decided that from a government perspective gays and straights all just have “civil unions” and allowing religion to define marriage any way they want. It’s such a stupidly simple answer to make all government paperwork say “civil union” but then they can’t keep you in a fervour of hatred)

Ephesians 5:18 suggests not doing it in excess, but is excess being drunk at all? Or turning yourself into a complete alcoholic? Yeah the British and Americans added details based on their own political desires at the time.

Corinthians 7:2 is AMAZINGLY heavily interpreted, especially given that until recently, an “engagement” was close enough to allow for sexual activity in nearly all sects of Christianity. Why did it change to the wedding night? Not to mention that the translations on this can be interpreted WILDLY. It reads more like “don’t fuck someone else’s wife” …. but I’m sure you won’t see it that way.
