Like, if he about faced and started acting good? Or what if he was good the entire time?

If it’s the latter then butcher would have never had a reason to dislike him in the first place. If it’s the former I don’t think he’d be able to convince anyone he’d changed his ways.

I don’t think Stan or soldier boy are capable of respecting anyone. Stan explicitly only sees him as a product, and soldier boy… sucks.

Stan: “You are simply bad product”, no respect there.

Soldier Boy would just think Homelander is being some sort of annoying boy scout if Homelander was genuinely trying to be ethical/good/whatever, there would be no respect there.

Butcher would maybe respect Homelander but he certainly won’t like him, he just doesn’t like Supes. Also I’d assume that all the other Supes are still doing their own thing so Butcher would still dislike them all generally speaking. e.g. A-Train would still end up killing Hughie’s girlfriend, Deep would still be a POS, Supes would still be responsible for all sorts of collateral damage, etc.

Obviously butcher hates Homelander given their past, but Butcher initially does have almost a form of respect for Homelander in season 1.

Homelander is “the only one” (supe) not drinking/drugs/sex in the supe clubs etc, and his public image is still fairly spotless early in season 1.

Soldier Boy only loves himself, and would consider Homelander either a disappointment if he is weaker than soldier boy, or a threat to be eliminated if he’s stronger than solder boy.

Stan just wants a predictable product that’s easy to manage. He would prefer obedience from Homelander, but probably wouldn’t respect him for being that strong but entirely pliable.

Maybe Stan respects Homelander if Homelanders true motive was to be good to others (and if Homelander wasn’t an actual idiot). But doubtful the other two ever would.
