I’ve got wallet and lighter front right, phone and cigs front left, and keys on a carabiner tucked into back right. Back left is basically always empty.

    Front left: phone

Front right: UltraTac k18 flashlight, Leatherman Style PS, space pen (it collapses to half length), keys

Pocket knife clipped inside my waistband, front right crotch. Easy to draw, clip won’t scratch or gouge anything.

Nothing in back pockets for comfort

Those get carried full time in house and out. I carry a small shoulder sling or waist pouch for wallet and other sundries when going out.

    Front pockets: phone and wallet.

Back pockets: keys (connected by chain to the wallet), a folded bandana/hanky, and a spare dollar or two not kept in my wallet. In my urban environment butt-dollars are important for tip jars, street performers, panhandlers, vending machines, or other cash-based occasions at which I’d rather not whip out my whole wallet.

I live in a humid subtropical climate. That hand towel does a lot of sweat wiping. Also hand drying after washing hands more rarely in public toilets with no towels/dryer

A towel, it says, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have.

A towel has immense psychological value. For some reason, if a strag (strag: non-hitch hiker) discovers that a hitch hiker has his towel with him, he will automatically assume that he is also in possession of a toothbrush, face flannel, soap, tin of biscuits, flask, compass, map, ball of string, gnat spray, wet weather gear, space suit etc., etc.
