My retort for “life isn’t fair” is a lot shorter.

It is: “I know, doesn’t mean you can’t be”.

So often it’s used to excuse you getting screwed by someone. The universe may not be fair, but more often than not, when facing unfair bullshit, there’s a person/people you can actually slap behind it.
