After firing each shot, the gunman racked back the pistol to load a new round, then racked it again when it jammed, John Monaghan, a retired NYPD captain, told CNN on Friday.
“It’s a very unique weapon. The length of the barrel in that video right there tells us it most probably is a veterinary pistol,” he added.
Yeah, that guy just had no idea what he was talking about…
Vets rarely use gunpowder pistols, at most they use these weird pistols that require the barrel being removed to load each round, and only like a 3 inch barrel max, often barely longer than the bullet even. One always gets posted in gun deal communities as a joke for like $99.99
I 100% see reading that article and assuming he knew what he was talking about tho.
But especially with the NYPD, a lot of captains are fucking idiots and wildly corrupt, Eric Adams was one too. They don’t rise they the ranks by being good cops, they make captain by being corrupt.
It was likely a hand made gun. Like a 3d printed thing
Why?
That still leaves a substantial paper trail, the real gangsta move is always the OG move. Just buy one used from a “private seller” without even an ID let alone a background check.
Like, if you think building a p80 would be less risk, you have no idea how easy it is to buy a gun without a background check in America…
How do you find a person who sells guns illegally?
It’s not illegal…
If I want to sell a gun. I can sell it to a person I see walking down the street without even asking what their name is. If you’ve ever walked by a gunshow parking lot, that’s something that actually happens.
They could have just gotten out of 40 years of prison, unless I explicitly know they can’t own a gun, I literally and legally can’t break any laws by selling them one.
Which is why lots of “private seller” don’t ask names.
I don’t think that’s as easy as you think
If you don’t want to wait on a gun show, lots of online websites exist to facilitate private sales.
I’m not saying it should be like this, I’m saying this is currently American law.
And there are a metric shit ton of loopholes, that no one seems interested in closing.

Either way, the dude should have been more careful and at least buried the evidence somewhere.
We should all be taking notes on how they found him, and put that in a checklist.
Some employee at McDonald’s recognized him and ratted him out. Class traitor.
To be fair, that worker probably did not know the scope of the Situation
Why?

Walking around a gun show to find someone selling guns for cash out of their trunk seems like a really good way to meet a cop lol
Again, it’s 100% legal… So not sure why you’d worry about meeting a cop
I dunno, it doesn’t feel like me explaining anything has had any effect. I’m sorry I couldn’t explain this better.
I guess my state is pretty strict. All sales for any reason go through a licensed dealer.
