If I can mow down Arab and Russians and Chinese soldiers in any number of American video games, why not Israelis?

The article talks about gushing blood and gruesome visuals as if CoD didn’t ask us to commit a terrorist attack in an airport 15 years ago. At least this game narrows your targets to IDF soldiers, according to the article.

Also, the game historically has had ~25 concurrent players at any given time. I don’t think this game is as important as certain people would want you to believe.

To be fair, there was an awful lot of controversy about that CoD mission at the time.

I would even argue the controversy about it is the point. It’s art. It’s meant to make you think about things you might not ever consider, and in the case of No Russian, it’s the horror of committing a terrorist attack. Imo, it’s an intentional but valuable (both financially and ethically) lesson in what art can do

Yeah, that’s not the best example. I think the ac-130 mission is a much better example because I don’t remember it getting a lot of controversy despite it being pretty non-chalant about you decimating the ground forces like it was just another day in the office (or rather in the air). It’s the ultimate “dehumanize the enemy” mission because you could replace the targets with pretty much anyone and the mission would play exactly the same.

It’s because right wing people are simping for and sticking up for Israel, and the IDF. Notice how in the Article it’s LibsOfTikTok who’s calling out the game and encouraging its removal from Steam?

Edit: For people not in the know LibsOfTikTok is an alt-right American internet personality, and also apparently a news curator now. They push a lot of anti-trans hate and alt-right talking points on Twitter, and they’re probably a terrorist too.

I can’t speak for every case of those game’s and their stories and missions, especially since I don’t play CoD, but the majority of those targets you’re shooting at are actual terrorist groups.

      And with statements like:

Its creator argued that the game is no different from numerous games that allow users to kill Arabs

He’s basically equating Palestinians, or Arabs, with Hamas. So he is basically saying that Palestinians / Arabs are all terrorists, just like he’s basically saying the IDF are terrorists. At that point he might as well go the next step and add the ravers to slaughter and rape.

Also, the game historically has had ~25 concurrent players at any given time. I don’t think this game is as important as certain people would want you to believe.

      Certain people? Who?

The IDF is objectively, by every definition, a terrorist organization. And the US, EU, Israel, and other such white settler countries already paint all arabs and Palestinians as terrorists.

Oh and for good measure, Hamas isnt a terror org. It’s a non profit created by a guy whose family was killed by terrorists.

An organisation whose main ambition is the destruction of an entire nation and its people is not a terrorist organisation?

Correct, the destruction of a nation that has no right to exist and has spent its entire existence commiting ethnic cleansing and genocide. That’s not terrorism, that’s fighting for freedom.

So you think Israel is responsible for genocide, yet your solution to that is to… kill them all.

Do you not see the irony here?

Palestine has hosted Jews for longer than Judaism has existed, continuously. The removal of a Jewish supremacist fascist state commiting genocide does not in fact mean genocide.

Hamas has been exceedingly clear in its goals, so has every other Palestinian movement; elimination of the fascist state.

From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.

If your family was kidnapped tortured, or in the best case scenario killed, every day, for longer than anyone in your family remembers, and will be for as long as you choose to stay alive, you might want to fight. There’s a reason Holocaust survivors tend to avoid Israel, bad memories.

Oh yeah? Does that also apply to the killings of the butcher of Khan Younis? Or the that of the theocratic regime in Iran? Or the rocket strikes of Hezbollah? Or the massacre of the rave on Oct. 7th? Just trying to figure out which murders you deem justified.

There’s a reason Holocaust survivors tend to avoid Israel, bad memories.

As if you care about holocaust survivors, considering how you people abuse Jews outside of Israel and end up defacing holocaust memorials for your agenda.

You keep changing the subject, so I’ll just end with; until Israel stops committing genocide, especially the most well documented genocide in history, it will keep getting attacked. That’s how oppression works, the oppressed fight back. Something no living Israeli knows.

The Holocause was most well-documented by the perpetrators. That’s why The Diary of Anne Rice was so exceptional. Those who survived it were not prone to talk about it much for years afterwards.

The survivors of the current genocide are begging us to notice the deaths of the victims we are seeing all-but-live on camera. Cameras held by both them and IDF soldiers boasting about it, no less. Nazi Germany would have loved someone so prone to looking away as you.
