I asked if people chose iPhone for the blue bubbles elsewhere a couple days ago, and while there was some good discourse on that post, the blue bubbles definitely also came up as a reason.

In my experience, when people find out my texts are green, they oftentimes would rather switch to a different platform altogether like Instagram or just not text at all.

Is this actually a deal-breaker in friendships out there?

    Because:

    • I like the Android ecosystem
    • I like having a wide choice of devices
    • I do not like the “my way or the highway” approach to software/UX design
    • I like to be able to choose latest mobile tech without having to wait for it to be deemed “worthy” by one giant corp.

    Etc, etc, etc.

I just die a little everytime I get asked that which is why I had to.

I just like Android more and “your” messaging convenience is not my concern.

It’s annoying though as I am literally the only android user in my direct and extended family so they iChat away and I’m left out or it’s assumed my wife will update me if required.
