Ancient synagogues are still standing in Syria, although many have been severely damaged by airstrikes and looted by rebels; some internal Syrians and ex-pats are cautiously optimistic about Jewish life under the new government
We used to have thousands. But after 1948, we exiled them all. In saudi, we have 0, and if you are Israeli, you are not even allowed to enter the country (used to be if you were jewish, straight up). In Iraq there is 100 or something. Most, if not all people here haven’t ever talked to or seen a jew (Including me) but they hate them with a passion, to the point of even praising Hitler. Hopefully one day the antisemitism die out in the arab world, but it won’t happen in this lifetime.
In the whole Arab world there were hundreds of thousands if not millions of Jews being just regular people living their lives whereas in Europe they talked about Jews like they do about Muslims today up until they did the fucking Holocaust.
It was never about Jews and still isn’t. It’s about colonizers stealing our land, putting us under apartheid and genociding us.
Yeah, but i still think it’s sad how there’s a huge divide between us. I largely blame zionism, but i’ve heard some disgusting opinions from some arabs not about zionism itself, but about jews. Yet they hypocritically complain about us being discriminated, saying that not all of us are terrorists. Guess that just doesn’t apply to jews.
I get what you’re saying and I’ve heard that stuff too ngl. And I think Arabs are also pretty damn racist, not more or less than any other group of people.
But I think in general the more educated people are able to make the distinction, and if you see Jewish voice for Peace, Queers for Palestine, Irish bloc, etc. fighting with their lives to support us whereas Arab governments and even religious figures are largely silent and complicit, it changes something. We see it and the people in Gaza see it, and if there’s ever a free Palestine it should be free for everyone.
I honestly wish there’s a way out of this, but if there is it’s gonna be a long one.
Would you care to enlighten me regarding the credibility of Ynet? Been coming back to them on & off for many years and they always seem to have well written articles. MBFC also ranks them highly.
Ah yes. Worried it might’ve been something else. Even being at war, Israel does rather well when it comes to press freedom. There are a wide variety of perspectives.
They shut down Al Jazeera entirely and they murder journalists in Gaza & Lebanon systematically, they’ve killed literally hundreds since October 7 and have been doing it before. I don’t know in what world you’d consider that doing press freedom “rather well“
There was a lot of ugly shit happening. Part of it was unfortunately also due to Zionist psy-ops after they realized most Arab Jews didn’t want to leave their home countries.
All that shit probably wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for the British and French doing their divide and conquer shit so well to drive a wedge between people who were living together more or less peacefully before.
Unfortunately all the meddling worked really well.
Nope, the pogroms didn’t happen in a vacuum that’s what I’m saying. They were horrible and I blame the Arabs for carrying them out. But nevertheless it was a calculated strategy by the British, French and the Zionists to support whatever dirtbags would be willing to roll with their strategies.
Examples are the Jews in Morocco: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Migration_of_Moroccan_Jews_to_Israel
Ironically, they have been living there for 2,000 years and their trouble began when the French Nazi collaborators started persecuting the Jews and eventually Israel had to pay money to the Morroccan Jews because they didn’t want to come there.
Many migrants became disgruntled at what they perceived to be racist attitudes among the Ashkenazi towards them. In this early period the majority (70%) either wished to return to Morocco, or advised their families not to follow them to Israel, given the discrimination they encountered.
Whole article is worth reading and there are similar stories in other countries, because they were Arabs first and then Jewish, Muslim, Christian whatever, but this changed drastically thanks to imperialism and their divide and conquer strategy.
The Zionists didn’t give a shit about Arab Jews, they were just an instrument to get a Jewish majority in Palestine, because even Palestinians Jews were divided on Zionism: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palestinian_Jews
Until today there are Palestinian Jews who are anti-Zionist because they are native to that land and Zionism has ruined their lives equally.
Credibility of Ynet aside, there was indeed once a thriving Jewish community in Syria.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syrian_Jews
There was also one in Yemen.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yemenite_Jews
In that case, most of them were intentionally driven out. There were even pogroms.

Also, عرب أخر على ليمي, كيفك :D

يا هلا يا هلا ظنيت أنا لحالي هون :D
Yeah no one likes you when you create a fascist government with the sole intent of stealing their land and killing their people.
Doesn’t justify supporting nazis, exiling their entire race, and discriminating against them. Hell, i’d say the exiles encouraged zionism even more.
But i agree that Israel is horrible, but the reactions were awful too.

It’s an Israeli source and I wanted to stop a credibility discussion before it started.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Jazeera_controversies_and_criticism
Al Jazeera has a long history of islamist propagandism and affiliating with terrorists.
So the usual, got it. Maybe they’re hamas too? Also, no word about assassinating literally hundreds of journalists? Were they also all terrorists?

Sorry, are you blaming Jews for pogroms against Jews?
