I think the “Jack Smith Gives Up” headline isn’t fair since it was other people’s fault he was appointed so late. But other than that I think conservative David Frum’s article pointing out that Trump got away with treason and this is a dangerous thing for the future of the country is spot on.

Fuck this country, fuck the justice theater, and fuck everyone who dragged their asses for four fucking years. If Donald was a poor man he would have been arrested on Jan 6th and taken to Guantanamo.

Trump can be impeached for Jan 6th, for the election interference, for pardons, or for the felony convictions.

No, definitely not. But if Dems raise the issue, and make the argument, and get Republicans to go on record supporting Trump, it’s easier to drive voter turnout in the midterms. Angry people vote, and things are going to get much worse if the Democrats roll over without a fight. Remember, Republicans were the minority party when they effectively stalled Clinton, Obama, and Biden for 20 years. Democrats act like they need a supermajority to do anything.

They voted to acquit because his term was expiring and they argued that he would need to be prosecuted in criminal court. He can still be impeached, as double jeopardy does not apply.

They didn’t vote to acquit because his term was expiring. They voted to acquit because he was Republican so they used the excuse it was for the courts. As soon as they acquitted, they began backtracking on their claims that Jan 6th was a problem.

The Republican Congress will not impeach Trump for any reason.
