During their protest of Russell Vought’s confirmation, Senate Democrats sounded the alarm about Vought’s role in drafting Project 2025 and his support for vastly expanding the power of the president.

Vought, said Wisconsin senator Tammy Baldwin at 10:30 pm eastern time on Wednesday, “has openly called for the president to defy congress and take control of federal funding decisions that are constitutionally vested in the legislative branch.”

Schiff accused the Trump administration of unlawfully attempting to break down the separation of powers and said Vought would play a role in aiding that effort.

“This is an effort to try to consolidate power, all the power of this government, in the hands of Donald Trump and a few of his hand-picked very wealthy, billionaire friends,” said California Democrat Adam Schiff.

What about now, are you gonna live up to your ideals and be involved, or live up to their preconceptions of liberals and only do politics on election day?

          Involved in what way?

What do you mean by “only do politics on Election Day”

They’re referring to how you joined the conversation with “what choice do we have?” (a defeatist attitude) and proceeded to complain that we’re here because of leftists staying home on election day leading to defeat.

Their point was that, maybe we’re defeated not because people didn’t come out on a single day to vote, but because they said “what choice do we have?” on all the other days.

Contact local BIPOC and other radical political groups in your area. Learn the plans they’ve had to fight systems of oppression as they’ve been at this for a lot longer than the election cycle. Learn how you can help, and what you offer, even if it’s just a body or a skin tone. Learn all the different facets of anti-state action and find your place in an organized group.

These fights have been going on longer then either of us has been alive, and almost all of the fight is done outside the ballet box, so the I am genuinely asking, are you willing to commit to what you seem to believe and do something outside? Because I think you know, arguing on some tiny sliver of a fraction of the internet isn’t meaningful fighting. So find the people in your community that are meaningfully fighting in whatever way they can and join them. Please.
