I think the “pipeline” thing is generally overblown. 99% of the people watching JT’s video or reading the articles on RedSails aren’t doing so because they’re part of any kind of coherent leftist movement, they’re doing so because they’re consumers in the leftist internet marketplace and they’re picking what they like based on vibes. Day is right to critique JT although I think doing so via a twitter thread was a bad call because he’s forced to build his argument a tiny bit at a time - it would have been better to pen an article on the topic and lay everything out all at once.
