Summary

IRS worker Robert McCabe, a Trump voter, expressed shock after being among 7,000 laid off by DOGE, an initiative under the Trump administration led by Elon Musk.

McCabe stated DOGE is acting like a “wrecking ball and destroying people’s lives for no reason.”

The layoffs, targeting probationary employees with less than a year of service, affect hundreds at the IRS and are part of a broader effort to shrink the federal workforce.

The cuts raise concerns about impacts on tax collection during a critical season.

That’s the acting commissioner of the IRS.

He fired the probationary employees at the IRS because he was afraid to stand up to Musk and trump.

Fascists use Tinkerbell logic, they have as much power as people think they do. If we start saying Musk has the power to fire federal employees, Musk will start acting like he has the power to fire federal employees.

Details are more important than ever right now. And if the agency heads that resigned out of cowardice had stayed at their post, they could be up there right now saying they refuse to fire anyone and making a giant media spectacle out of all of this. Which would pressure the ones willing to go along to also stand by their employees.

You can’t beat fascism by going home and taking a fucking nap.

I hold the same power as Trump and musk - the only difference is the number of people who book l believe in it.

        Indeed.

Up to now you have believed in the existence of tyrants. Well, you were mistaken. There are only slaves. Where none obeys, none commands. – Anselme Bellagarrigue
