this fuckin’ putz just attacked someone who embodies much of Appalachia’s struggle. and do you know what he did it to do? he did it to perpetrate the continuation of our struggle. we are a region rich with mineral wealth, but poor because outside interests have robbed us blind through trickery, coercion, and violence. the current development plan of my part of Appalachia centers around the development of pipelines to transport petroleum from the country north of us to ports along our nation’s southern coast, and to mine the rare earths under our soil. sound familiar?
