Policy updated yesterday where you can't opt out of data farming. They are openly stating that they are selling targeted data about every link you click on, sub you subscribe to, anything you up and down vote. Not that I don't think they weren't doing this in some fashion already, but the option isn't even there anymore. They aren't trying to hide it and are basically gaslighting people and trying to tell them it's actually a good thing you can't opt out.
It's not about the adds, it's about personalized data collection and selling it to whoever wants it. It has nothing to do with seeing adds or if they are personalized to you.
Say you are someone with an addiction problem and come here to talk about it, or seek help/guidance. Do you want that being sold to whoever pays a few bucks.
What about a woman who had a miscarriage, or was raped and had to get an abortion. That data on you is now being sold and not just as a general data point of we have X many people on this sub or w.e. It's RampageDon had an abortion and has been on this sub for X minutes making X posts a day. Ublock isn't stopping that or the revenue they will get selling it.

I understand that is upsetting but I look at it this way.
I never use the web without ff and ublock, both on pc and mobile (android + ff + ublock) I literally never see adds.
youtube is also via ff on both so no adds as well.
So the personalisation of ads means nothing to me as I never see them
