![michael-laugh](https://www.hexbear.net/pictrs/image/3858ea0f-f09c-4c6f-95a1-5dda154612ad.png "emoji michael-laugh") Did they back up all of their posts? Will they really go dig one out for you if you need to know the in depth conversation they were having about whatever the fuck I ended up on that page for?
This was when the API changes were happening, taking search results from Reddit actually does something. World didn't suck at first, and FMHY was a great piracy based instance before it went down. This was pretty normal on the piracy instances.
Does it really matter? Props to them for actually deleting all their reddit posts and making Reddit that bit less usable for everyone else.
they likely used the gdpr data export thingy to get a copy of all their posts yeah
deleted by creator
I don't think this should be dunked on. This does drive some traffic and isn't a worthless action to do if you're deleting your reddit account anyway. Their choice being lemmyworld is shit but if people doing this results in just a handful of extra users created then it's better than not doing it.
I don't mind the advertising for lemmy, what I do mind is that this person thinks anyone is going to miss them off reddit and will come look for them, and they think anyone is going to reach out to them literally just to lookup whatever their post was. The gall to assume literally anyone cares about what they posted on reddit is hilarious to me.
A ton of tech support threads are now dead from deleted comments, so if you're active on those it makes sense that someone might want to know the solution to some computer issues that's now been replaced.
Absolutely do this but to random lemmy.world users.
i think ill do that for my porn commenting account.
I changed all mine to say "cum" and then deleted them
Did you find this by chance? I'm very surprised it would show up, given that overdone link spam will get any comment with that link shadow deleted
I found this by complete chance. I was searching for a way to pirate Minecraft mods that have a patreon lock on them and was just scrolling through that thread trying to see if anyone had a good answer.
jic u didnt find out yet unless the mod requires u to login to a patreon account to play, go to kemono.party to pirate anything on patreon
I didn't know paid Minecraft mods were even a thing. I mean, I probably should have, but still.
These ones are free but they have some more advanced features locked behind a patreon wall
Imagine still browsing reddit
I just landed on that page from a random Google search but yeah
i dont have to imagine
