    So… if these committees represented the will of the people of Korea at the time, and it was suppressed from outside in the south, and the Soviets instead integrated these committees into a new government. That means the DPRK is actually, seriously the legitimate government of the entire Korean peninsula.

    This'll be fun to point out the next time I get into an argument about North Korea. But it's also absolutely infuriating. Death to America.

      They are, people tend to look only at Kim Il-sung and think that the Soviets only built the government with Kim and his comardes. When in reality the DPRK government was composed of members of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea.
