The “safe” amount is zero. The amount you “can” drink depends on the person. I am actually in favor of this because one person’s “safe” level could kill the next person.
Exactly. My tolerance is crazy high, even though I rarely drink anymore. It takes like 8+ shots in quick succession to get me past being buzzed.
If my wife drank the same amount of alcohol it takes to get me drunk, she’d get alcohol poisoning. But that’s probably mostly because I’m a foot taller and 60lb heavier than her.
I think this is about chronic, not acute, exposure to alcohol, i.e. developing cancer, not inebriation.
