I'm reading House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski right now. It's been great so far and has such a unique style to it. I didn't realize until I saw this post how perfect it was for spooky season. Although I wouldn't say it has any Halloween elements. It's more just general horrorish.
Fever Dream by Samanta Schweblin
We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson
Heart Shaped Box by Joe Hill
Let the Right One In by John Ajvide Lindqvist
And anything by Junji Ito, but especially his depiction of No Longer Human
I’m always looking for new stories about vampires and the apocalypse (like during the apocalypse and fall of society, not post)
