    Uhm. A sponsor of a bill/law/action is persons who are in favor of the bill in its current form, and will be willing to argue for it if need be.

    Sponsors aren’t required to vote in favor of it, but it’s a very high likelihood they will.

    Basically 140 sponsors means it will get to a vote.
