That is just Canon’s own Digital Photo Professional to crop and play with the global luminance curve, and a woefully under-used ACDSee Photo Studio which I only use to add keywords and catalogue.
So, really, just the joy of decent sunshine and a bird that was still and not that far away.
Thanks. Yes, the lighting is fantastic, but the dynamic range is better than what I can get. I’m still learning to edit and I don’t think I’m to this level yet. I’m sure having your great kit doesn’t hurt either, ha. My 12 year old camera struggles to keep up.
Mmm, yes, my gear does help a lot (except for the challenge of pointing the weighty pair in just the right direction), though it would help someone with more skills than me even more.
I’d be too paranoid to take that kit out. It’s been in the single digits fahrenheit (~ -15C) here for the past month or so with ice. I don’t mind potentially breaking my $600 kit, but one that cost ~ $5k, no way. I am envious though. The full frame and 800mm zoom is awesome.
Gorgeous raptor, awesome shot! What do you edit with?
