Philips OneBlade is also a decent option that doesn’t cost much.

Much better quality, even lower prices in the long run.

Why the fuck does it cost that much? There are some for 15 bucks. Are there any resources as to their quality and distinguishing features?

Good safety razors are manufactured with low tolerances. A small difference in blade position or alignment can create a massive difference in the quality of your shave.

Their 34C model is quite popular and at $50 you will quickly make a return on investment if you were shaving with cartridges/disposables before.

You’re paying for the manufacturing tolerances, consistency and their reputation.

They are from Solingen, Germany and sell the Merkur 34C since 1931. It is quality.

All the other answers + merkur blades last super long and are very cheap.

        Plus it shaves better.

And I have one and I could basically shave with a new razor every single time I shave and still have it be cheaper than using a regular razor.
