https://lemmy.ml/c/flashlight@lemmy.world got that error a few minutes ago when lemmy.world was having some db probs, but works now. I had thought federated posts were supposed to be copied to the local server, and anyway a raw 502 is a confusing diagnostic. This is basically a bug report.

They are. It might have just been a coincidental outage.
I still can’t login to lemmy.world or open/comment on posts on their instance. I can see some posts that were made before they went down, but I can only open some of them, and I can’t comment on any of them. Does anyone know what’s happening with them?
They might be updating their instance, a new version was released last night.
10 hours since you commented, did you find out?
No, I had to go to work. I’m home now, and it’s working.
Hi there! Looks like you linked to a Lemmy community using a URL instead of its name, which doesn’t work well for people on different instances. Try fixing it like this: !flashlight@lemmy.world
All seems to be working now.
UPDATE 07:07:58, CEST: https://lemmy.world…
All inbound traffic blocked as temporary measure due to server load issues. See Status Page for more info. See Here for server health
UPDATE 06:11:54, CEST: lemmy.world gives the error page…
Error!
There was an error on the server. Try refreshing your browser. If that doesn’t work, come back at a later time. If the problem persists, you can seek help in the Lemmy support community or Lemmy Matrix room.
